NIU Statement of Support for Asian American, Asian, and Pacific Islander Communities

Dear Natick Is United Members and Friends,

Violence and hate crimes against Asian Americans, Asian, and Pacific Islander communities have been on the rise throughout the pandemic. The senseless and tragic shootings that occurred in Atlanta on Tuesday night have left feelings of shock, pain, and for many - fear. Natick Is United stands in solidarity with the Asian American community, and reaffirms the fundamental value, dignity and shared humanity of all people.

In times like these, words are not enough. We must actively and courageously oppose anti-Asian bigotry, and all other forms of racism by modeling antiracist behavior in our own community. The history of violence against Asian people began long before any racial slurs relating to the Coronavirus. Let’s work together to dispel the stereotypes and #StopAsianHate.
