Islamic Center of Boston (ICB Wayland) Statement
ICB Wayland Denounces Hateful Attack on Temple in Pittsburgh
Our hearts go out to those killed and injured in the deadly attack at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, PA. We condemn this horrific action by the shooter in the strongest possible terms. It is a sad day for Pennsylvania and America. It is beyond heartbreaking to see our Jewish brothers and sisters murdered in their place of worship while simply praying. It is unconscionable that this can happen in the USA in 2018.
We stand in solidarity with our Jewish sisters and brothers in speaking out against anti-Semitism. Yesterday’s shooting is an example of the rising anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, and bigotry in America. Such hate-mongering actions are destructive to the fabric of American society, and must be rejected, lest they destroy the very fiber that holds our country together.
We at the Islamic Center of Boston (ICB), Wayland offer our condolences, support, and prayers to the families of the victims. ICB remains committed to addressing anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, and other forms of hatred.
