Assistant Coordinator
NIU is looking for an Assistant Coordinator to help our Planning Team in carrying out the day-to-day office tasks, and to provide programming, fundraising, and communications support. This will be a remote, contract position of 10 hours per week for 6 months, with the possibility of an extension. Compensation will be $25 per hour. The position will be supervised by NIU’s Executive Director
Responsibilities
Programming
Work closely with NIU’s ED to:
Oversee NIU’s virtual panel presentations and Racial Justice Series.
Coordinate with a small group of facilitators, working closely with them to streamline work and processes for programs and workshops.
Assist in managing workshop/group logistics.
Assist with communications and marketing for workshops.
Engage in community networking to draw potential participants to programming.
Assist with evaluating workshops.
Assist ED with management of the Leadership Team which meets 6 times a year.
Oversee all aspects of office functioning.
Fundraising
Work closely with NIU’s ED to:
Help create and implement NIU’s fund development strategy to enhance the organization’s capacity and long-term financial sustainability.
Build and strengthen new and existing community partnerships in support of NIU’s mission.
Serve as a liaison to sponsors and major donors, keeping connected to these businesses and individuals in meaningful ways as part of a cultivation strategy for increased support and engagement.
Identify and apply for grants to support NIU’s mission.
Carry out annual appeal through mail and online channels.
Communications
Work closely with NIU’s Communications Director to:
Develop and manage communications posts on Facebook.
Coordinate content on social media, email, and the website.
Edit original content for social media, email, and the website.
Research new ways to communicate via social media.
Qualifications
Passion for NIU’s mission and ability to articulate its philosophy, values, and practices to internal and external stakeholders
Strong commitment to racial justice and the inclusion of all the diverse groups represented in the town of Natick
Familiarity with nonprofit policies and administration required
Experience with grant writing and institutional donors, fundraising strategy development, and donor/sponsor engagement
Team player with demonstrated leadership ability, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
Versed in all Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Versed in social media platforms
